Mio's Memory - Eve McTelenn

"Mio's Memory" is a piece I composed in memory of a beautiful encounter — with Mio, a Japanese student who had come to Paris to study piano at the Rachmaninoff Conservatory. She was also looking to learn a traditional Western instrument that might remind her of the koto her grandmother used to play when she was a child. And so, we met, thanks to the Celtic harp.

« Le Souvenir de Mio » est une pièce que j’ai composée en mémoire d’une belle rencontre : celle avec Mio, une étudiante japonaise venue à Paris pour étudier le piano au Conservatoire Rachmaninov. Elle souhaitait aussi apprendre un instrument traditionnel occidental qui lui rappellerait le koto que sa grand-mère jouait dans son enfance. C’est ainsi que nous nous sommes rencontrées, grâce à la harpe celtique.
