Kenavo Friend is a piece I composed in 2009, born out of tenderness and melancholy — a way of saying goodbye to a dear friend. A farewell, yes … but also a gentle, hopeful melody carried by the quiet strength of friendship that endures even in absence. From the beginning, I dreamed of one day playing this piece at the grave of Turlough O’ Carolan, the legendary Irish harper. That dream came true a few years later, during a trip to Ireland for a wedding. On that day, in Keadue, standing before the silent stone of the bard, I played Kenavo Friend — a musical offering, a thread of remembrance woven through time.

« Kenavo Friend » est une pièce que j'ai composée en 2009, née d'une profonde tendresse et d'une douce mélancolie – une façon de dire adieu à un ami cher. Un adieu, certes… mais aussi une mélodie douce et pleine d'espoir, portée par la force tranquille d'une amitié qui perdure même dans l'absence. Dès le départ, je rêvais de jouer un jour cette pièce sur la tombe de Turlough O'Carolan, le légendaire harpiste irlandais. Ce rêve s'est réalisé quelques années plus tard, lors d'un voyage en Irlande pour un mariage. Ce jour-là, à Keadue, devant la pierre tombale silencieuse du barde, j'ai joué « Kenavo Friend » – une offrande musicale, un fil de souvenir tissé à travers le temps.
