Itsumo Nando Demo ("Always With Me") is one of the most famous themes from the Japanese animated film Spirited Away, directed by Hayao Miyazaki and produced by Studio Ghibli.
Released in 2001, the film tells the story of Chihiro, a ten-year-old girl who finds herself immersed in a world inhabited by spirits, deities, and mysterious creatures. To save her parents, who have been transformed into pigs after entering this enchanted realm, she must show courage and perseverance while learning and growing throughout her journey.
The piece Itsumo Nando Demo, composed by Yumi Kimura, accompanies some of the most emotional moments of the film. It is heard notably at the end of the story and during the closing credits, leaving the audience with a feeling of gentleness, nostalgia, and hope. Its simple yet deeply moving melody has become one of the most beloved pieces in the Ghibli repertoire.
You will therefore find three versions:
Version 1 – Discovery
A simplified arrangement specially designed for harpists who wish to explore the piece gently. Adapted for 27-string harps, it preserves the essence of the melody while remaining accessible.
Version 2 – Expanded Arrangement
Also written for 27-string harps, this version features a richer accompaniment and stays closer to the atmosphere and harmonies of the original composition.
Version 3 – Concert Arrangement
Designed for 34-string harps, this version takes advantage of a wider range through a deeper left- hand accompaniment and fuller bass notes, resulting in a broader and more expressive interpretation.

New 2026 edition
One of the challenges of arranging this piece is making it accessible to harpists of different levels and to players with instruments of various sizes. That is why, for this
new 2026 edition, I have chosen to offer not just one arrangement, but four complementary versions.
The first is what I call the Short Version , specially designed for 27-string harps. This simplified arrangement provides an ideal introduction to the piece in just three pages, while preserving the distinctive atmosphere and emotion of the original composition.
You will also find two additional versions for 27-string harps, each offering a gradual increase in complexity. These arrangements introduce new musical and technical elements step by step, allowing you to develop your interpretation progressively and confidently.
Finally, the fourth arrangement, written for 34-string harps, is what I consider to be the complete version and the closest to my original interpretation of the piece.
