Les Gymnopédies or Trois Gymnopédies are a series of three variations on Impressionist slow waltzes for solo piano, composed by Erik Satie and published in Paris in 1888. They were inspired by Gustave Flaubert's historical novel Salammbô (1862) and the Gymnopédies, ritual dances performed in Sparta during religious festivals in ancient Greece. Along with the Gnossiennes, they are among his most famous compositions.
